about
“Stuck Again” is a re-imagining of a song that dates back to the earliest days of Diet Lite, back when we were a few college kids hammering out tunes in dingy basements across Oshkosh, WI. The song stuck (sorry) and it’s remained a setlist staple ever since we recorded the first version, “Stuck”, for our self-titled debut. The way we play this song has morphed quite a bit over the years though, so we thought it made sense to make a recording that reflects that. It’s a neat look into how we’ve evolved as a band (read: gotten a lot better).
lyrics
Well I’ve been led into the fight
Singing ‘bout how I don’t mind
Been bounced around from side to side
But don’t you close those hard eyes
An oral prostitution shifted the illusion
Soldiering confusion with ragged words diffusing
Compromised perception upholding your pretensions
That thick-skinned intervention was our great invention
Don’t feed it
You’re gonna need it
Soft in the country home so why
Don’t you wander towards those concrete lines
Away from flesh you so despise
Bloodlust they need to keep inside
The lanes you’re choosing covered in ash and booze and
Sleazy eats left musing of love of disillusion
So fear the entertainer
Hold your own retainer
Stick to guns you’re using
You can without shooting
Don’t use it
You’re gonna lose it
